Niemeijer Coffee & Tea Tin — Red with Golden Animal Images 1930s

A characteristic red tin from Theodorus Niemeijer N.V. from Groningen, one of the oldest tobacco and coffee companies in the Netherlands (founded 1819). This tin was used for coffee or tea and is decorated with gold-coloured images of exotic animals — including a parrot, elephant, and tiger — and also features an image of Mickey Mouse, dating it to the late 1920s to 1930s. In that period, such tins sometimes came with small aluminum play figures of the depicted animals, which makes them particularly popular among collectors.
